River Aire/Leeds/Yorkshire/North East England

The Aire is a major river of Yorkshire, over 92 miles long. Upstream of Leeds railway station is free fishing.

We are told of barbel, chub, roach, perch, pike, bream, grayling and gudgeon are being caught, including good sized specimen fish.

Of course, this is city centre fishing with all the attendant issues that come with it; rough and ready banks, members of the public asking questions, the occasional unruly youths, but it’s free fishing and you can do well here.
