BROTHERSWATER/LAKE DISTRICT

It used to be called Broad Water but was renamed to commemorate two brothers who drowned here in 19th century. Only the western shore is open for fishing, most of the rest is in private hands. Similar to Ullswater, smaller lures are ideal, again, the ubiquitous Mepps would be ideal. The best idea here is to bring some waders and get out from the bank as far as you dare, then cast but, obviously, be careful. Look for the weed beds, both perch and trout will be nestling in there.
Parking off A592 near Cow Bridge.
