Ullswater/Lake District/Cumbria
Apparently, Ullswater is named after the Nordic chief, Ulf. As in Ulf’s Water. Ullswater is known far and wide for its excellent trout fishing. If you’re going, we suggest lure fishing, so you can cover as much water as possible. We’re also told a ledgered worm is highly effective. Perhaps lure fish too and when you’ve walked enough, stop and break out the ledgering equipment. This glacier lake is very deep up, to 250 feet in parts.
