CONISTON WATER/LAKE DISTRICT

Coniston Water/Lake District/Cumbria

Coniston is five miles long and on the western shore, the Old Man Of Coniston towers above the water.  A brooding presence.  It’s a good idea to try fishing for pike and perch from one of the two of the jetties. The southern end is usually quieter during busy tourist season so you’ll be left in peace.  Pike, perch and trout are the main quarries here, although the occasional sea trout have been reported.
