There is a section of free fishing plus adjoining the day ticket access stretch. Salisbury and District Angling Club controls around 5 miles of water on the Avon and Nadder above and below Salisbury town centre, and around the edge of the Churchfields industrial estate.

The Avon holds more varieties of fish than any other British river, and its wild trout and grayling commonly reach at least a pound, with some trout much larger. Specimen dace, perch, roach, pike, chub and gudgeon are also present in the Avon’s urban reaches.
