RIVER DON/SHEFFIELD/YORKSHIRE
SPRITE has adopted and negotiated free fishing for its members on the River Don from Hillfoot Bridge to a point just above Niagara Weir at Winn Gardens: at least 2 ½ miles of fishing.

The River Don is widely recognised as a prolific urban fishery, where trout are known to grow to more than 5lbs, and grayling to 1 ½ lbs or more.

You may also encounter barbel in deeper pools, and the lower reaches hold good populations of roach.  In fact, there are almost all the main coarse fish present, a glowing water.

Bags of small fish can top 20lbs on a good day, but 10lbs is still a good catch.
